New To Rock Solid?

We want to make your experience at Rock Solid Church a memorable time. That is why we have put together this simple page to help answer any questions you might have on your first visit.  First, our address is 2500 Via Cabrillo Marina #304, San Pedro, CA 90731.

Where should I park?

From the 110 freeway go left of Gaffey Street. Then turn left of 22nd street. Go past Pacific Avenue. Then go right at the stop light onto Via Cabrillo Marina. We place RS (black and white) signs along the road. Follow those signs until you see our large sign in from of our building on the left hand side.

Our church is the first building on the left along the road of Via Cabrillo Marina.  Go past the building and turn into the Doubletree Hotel Parking lot. We have 100 spaces dedicated for our church. You can basically park anywhere but it is best to park closest to our church building.

You will find a Rock Solid parking attendant there to help you park and escort you to our building if you like. Our parking attendants will have a Rock Solid badge or shirt on. If you need to drop anyone off it is okay to do so on the other side of the building in the Marina parking area or in the front of the building. Before or after service you may want to walk around our beautiful campus and enjoy walking along the harbor and view the fish, crabs, seals, birds, boats and fresh air.

What time should I be there?

Service starts at 10:30am every Sunday. However, we have a cafe that opens at 10am with free coffee. If you come early you can enjoy some free coffee at our new Rock’n Cafe.

If you have children you can check them into our themed “BibleLand Kids Department” as early as 10am where they can play games and have fun while you enjoy coffee or a time of prayer.

IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME GUEST STOP BY THE “GUEST TABLE” FOR A FREE GIFT.

We also have a Thursday Adult midweek service which starts at 7pm.

How long is the service? What should I wear?

Our services are roughly an hour and a half. We start on time at 10:30am and finish with a final prayer around 12pm. We are a “come as you are” OR “dress up if you desire” church. With that said, you can come to church however, you desire. Most people where casuals (jeans, slacks, etc) clothing while a few wear casual dress up. Rest assure that whatever you wear you will see others dressing similar to you, whether you dress up or come casual.  It is interesting to note that we have many who have come out of a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol and are now free while others are business owners, attorneys and city workers.

What type of worship music do we play?

Our worship music is very contemporary with a mix of some gospel. Some of the worship songs are from Christian worship bands such as: United Pursuit Band, Jesus Culture, Hillsongs, Housefires, Alvin Slaughter, Ron Kenoli, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Gary Oliver, Brian Johnson, and original songs written by our pastor and worship team. We are always seeking new and fresh songs to help us enter into a time of praise and worship of Jesus Christ.

Is there something for kids ages 0-12? And how do I check my kids in?

We love kids and have incredible children’s workers. All our kids workers have a background check before working with our kids and receive training. We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to service to sign in your kids. You will receive a number that will be associated with your children. You will need to bring that number to pick up your children after service. To get to Kids Church enter the main entrance and go left to the kids check-in station. You can’t miss it.  All our kids worship together in their own service during the adult worship time and then break out into their classes. Our rooms are kid friendly and is called “Bibleland.” It is a fun environment and the kids love it.  Once a month we have FAMILY DAY where we invite all the kids and workers into the sanctuary for a corporate time of worship and to partake in communion, with parent permission. During this time our kids serve, perform, and are part of the service. We do this to introduce the kids to adult worship and help them assimilate into the youth and adult church services when they come of age.

Is there something for students during the week?
